“Warrior Posts was created to give families, friends & Veteran organizations a means to honor the lives of loved ones primarily killed in action, missing in action, those who commit suicide, drug overdoses, mass shootings and first responders”.
My name is Lieutenant Colonel Mike Esposito, Ph.d, USMC, USA Retired. My service included a 13 month Vietnam tour as a Company Commander, 7th Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division. I took command in January 1968 when the TET offensive began and was in the field For 13 months returning home January 1969. My company and the battalion suffered considerable casualties wounded and killed in action. I have never forgotten those brave officers and enlisted Marines to this day. When I became aware of the number of Veteran suicides which average 20 – 22 daily I was compelled to find a way to never forget their sacrifices. In addition to these veterans I wanted to expand the people to include first responders victims of mass shootings and any other groups that serve and protect our freedom.
I personally know the effects of PTSD and many other effects of battle. Wars change people forever and it is my hope you will continue to remember those brave men and women from all branches of service as well as First Responders.
